Regions of the United States, culminating activity.
Materials needed: Completed regions posters, Access History books (pp. 16-17).  Yesterday pairs of students completed a regions poster.  Have all the groups who did the same regions get together and discuss their information. Then each group will decide what information to present.  Every member of the group must tell some information to the class about their region.

Lead them in writing a class paragraph summarizing what they have learned about regions of the United States. 

If time: Choose from the following:

             * Access History  The Thirteen Colonies, Skim/review quickly pp. 42-45 for overview;
                                          Jamestown, p. 46;  review pp. 48-49:
                        Brand new info:  Growth of the Colonies p. 50 & Slavery p. 51
                        Then have them finish the workbook p. 21 & do pp. 22-23
             *Game Time/ * SRI Computer Time
                  (Some students need to finish their SRI (Scholastic Reading Inventory) reading quiz on the computer.
                  They need to sit by people who speak different languages.  Send only about 10 students at a time.)
                 Scrabble: Review how to play.  Form groups of 4, different languages. (If you have them do game time,
                  they must keep the Scrabble pieces together in the same set and clean up before dismissal.
