4/29/08 SUBSTITUTE TODAY

1. Attendance; send a note to the office

2. Announcement: Today is the day that 8th grade students will turn in their 9th grade registration packets during PE.  This will happen in the weight room.  Counselors should be there to help you if you have any questions.  (If any 8th graders left their packets at home, send them to the office to call home.)

3. Show a movie  (DVD player/TV), or choose from the following:
              Mrs. Thaker can work with the 4 students who ned to review money.
              Whole class:  Review vocabulary from WBW p. 162
                                     Access History: Correct first page of the packet (rights, freedoms,
                                    guarantee, press)

Read the Constitution handout.  Highlight key words.  Do Questions 1-5.

5/1/08 Attendance; stamp homework
Schoolhouse Rock DVD:  "The Preamble"; have students sing along.
 
Continue with Constitution.  Students have the packet.  Their homework last nigh was to read the article, highlight key words, and answer questions 1-5.  (It will have been difficult for new students.)
 
   Read the U.S. Constitution handout together (p. 98) Teach key words & discuss.  Review answers for questions 1-5.  Finish the rest of the questions in class.

Energy, Conservation & the Environment  WBW p. 158
     Places in the environment:  (Neighborhood/city/county/state/country/continent/earth)

If time: continue with STAR testing practice.
