Finish "Why the Rooster...".     pp. 57-59.
Reread the story and listen to the CD.  Do activity pages 60-62 (words with multiple meanings, direct object pronouns, pronoun referents); Correct Q & A from p. 114; turn in for grading.
In groups of 3, write a fable about an animal that teaches a moral. 
     See Visions p. 117.
HOMEWORK
 
Green Group: 1. Study VB #19 Transportation and WBW p. 124 for an oral quiz tomorrow. Know all the words on p. 19.  Be able to tell 10 of the words from p. 124. 
2. Brainstorm ideas for your fable.  Animal characters & 3 possible morals. (See p. 117)
Blue Group: 
1. Write your letter to your grandparent about your school.

Study words with "a" from the dictionary and write a sentence using the words.

Green Group: Work on your fable.  Call your partners on the phone.  Finish writing your fable and bring a copy of it tomorrow.
All: Finish transportation testing tomorrow.

1/25/08 Transportation testing
Structure of the 5-paragraph essay.  Use highlighters. Discuss thesis statement, topic sentences, and supporting details.

HOMEWORK:
1. Write your introduction and body paragraphs. (childhood; goals; challenges & accomplishments).  Double-space.
2. Underline your thesis statement and topic sentences with a pencil. Highlight the 3 body paragraphs using 3 different colors.
