Homework Quizzes

Homework Quizzes are done randomly; seldom will there be forewarning.  Each quiz has approximately 10 questions.  The teacher will randomly pick questions for the quiz in which the students are required to copy EXACTLY what they have in their spiral notebook.  Some of the questions will be problems from homework assignments and notes from class.  Thus, it is essential that when the students do their homework, they copy down the problem, show their work for the problem, and write the answer for the problem.  If the answer for the problem is incorrect on the homework, it is recommended that they write the correct answer when correcting the homework in class.  Be sure to take all the notes in class to ensure a better grade on the homework quizzes as well.

If the student is absent, IT IS THE STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY to make-up any assignments missed, notes taken in class, and quizzes and tests.

Everything done in this class should be done in the student's math spiral notebook.  The math notebooks are used for homework quizzes.  Therefore, it is essential that this notebook be kept NEAT & ORGANIZED.

Math Notebooks

The math notebooks are meant to be like a journal.  Everything done in this notebook should be done in chronological order according to date.  This includes: warm-ups, class notes, and assignments.  The date should be in the top right-hand corner and each page should be labeled accordingly.  Students should write the title of each assignment at the top of the page, whether the page is for notes and/or warm-ups.  This is an essential tool needed to do well on the homework quizzes.  The student's math spiral notebook is solely for math class; nothing more.  It is important that this notebook stay as ORGANIZED as possible.  Organization of this notebook can potentially raise the students grade in class.
