Aaron, Timothy, Luis, and Joseph are driving from Atlanta to New Orleans which is a total of five hundred miles. They each left at 6:44 a.m. Everyone has been driving at different average speeds.

Figure out the average speed of each driver.


1.    Joseph drove at an average speed that was four mph faster than Timothy. Joseph arrived in New Orleans at 2:25 p.m.

2.    Aaron's friend is driving from New Orleans to Atlanta at fifty-six mph. His friend started from New Orleans at the same time Aaron left from Atlanta. At 7:23 a.m. they will be about 422 miles apart.

3.    After two hours, Luis has car troubles and had to drive the rest of the way at an average speed which is eleven mph slower than his average speed for the first two hours. At 5:21 p.m. Luis arrived in New Orleans.
