David, William, Christian, Natalie, and Jason are driving from Chicago to Minneapolis which is a total of four hundred miles. They each left at 6:41 a.m. Everyone has been driving at different average speeds.

Figure out the average speed of each driver.


1.    Christian's friend is driving from Minneapolis to Chicago at sixty-eight mph. His friend started from Minneapolis at the same time Christian left from Chicago. At 7:17 a.m. they will be about 323 miles apart.

2.    Natalie arrived in Minneapolis at 1:57 p.m.

3.    After three hours, Jason has car troubles and had to drive the rest of the way at an average speed which is eleven mph slower than his average speed for the first three hours. At 2:40 p.m. Jason arrived in Minneapolis.

4.    David drove at an average speed that was ten mph faster than William. David arrived in Minneapolis at 1:08 p.m.
