Rubric For Assessing The Analytical Thinking Process

ERROR ANALYSIS

|
| ERROR ANALYSIS involves
identifying and describing specific types of errors in information or processes
and how to correct them. It includes three criteria that can be assessed: |

Accurately identifying and stating significant errors in information
or processes. |
|
b. |
Accurately describing the effects of the errors on the information
or processes. |
|
c. |
Effectively describing how to correct the errors in information
or processes. |
|

a. |
I accurately identified all errors in the information or process under
study and made clear why they are errors. I also identified less obvious
errors. |
|
b. |
I provided an accurate analysis of the effects of the errors, including
a complete description of the consequences of the errors beyond. |
|
c. |
I provided a highly thoughtful or creative approach for correcting
the errors. |
|

a. |
I accurately identified all critical errors in the information or process
and made clear why they are errors. |
|
b. |
I provided an accurate analysis of the effects of the errors, omitting
few details. |
|
c. |
I provided a workable way of correcting the errors. My response deals
with the major concerns created by the errors. |
|
| 2 |
a. |
I accurately identified only some important errors. I included some
points that are not errors. |
|
b. |
I provided an analysis of the effects of the errors but omitted some
important consequences; or I did not describe all the effects of the errors. |
|
c. |
I provided an approach for correcting the errors that deals with some
of the major errors. It may not be the best or most appropriate response. |
